Default Fender emblems

My 70 Vette is missing the Stingray fender emblems. I see 3 pin and 4 pin emblems on ebay. Both say they are for 69-78 Vetts. The assembly manual I have shows 4 holes. Does the three pin just use three of the same four holes that the pin embles uses?
I would also like help on locating the emblem in reference to the side vents. Does anyone have a template with hole locations? The assembly manual shows some dementions, but it unclear what the reference location is.

My Zip Products catalog shows "stringray" emblems part # T-397 for 69-73 and T-314 for 74-76. Maybe one is a 4 pin and the other 3 pin???....not sure if they're interchangable.
As for location........you might try posting on the "factory correct resto" section if you don't get some help here. I've gotten some helpful info there.
