www.bowtieoverdrives.com I know you will need to shorten the driveshaft. That is why a 200 4r is better, basicly a bolt in, no need to shorten driveshaft, and it doesn't have such an aggressive 1st gear.

down to 25.5 to be correct.
shorten drive shaft, new crossmember, if your car has a carburetor you need to get a TV cable bracket, you need to install a new solenoid kit in the transmission, you need a new detent in the consol, and you need to hookup a lockout relay kit....
i just did this in a 77, i used all the kits from Bow Tie Overdrive
when i did the changeover to the 700r-4,,in my 73,, all i did was call boetie, thet walked my cousin(who built the trans) and myself thru the whole procedure and sold us all the necesssary parts to do the conversion

Also what do you need to do to the crossmember?
its all from bowtie over drives
don't have receipts in front of me but this is what i remember
crossmember 179, realay kit 45, TV cable & brackets 100, consol shift kit $110, pressure gauge 30, throttle bracket 10...what am i missing i thought it was 574 total?
used trans and TC from a friend 300, drive shaft shortened and rebalanced 85, trans filter and gasket kit 20
you asked about the crossmember....you buy an engineered one from bow tie over drive....it is 6 bolts to remove and easy to take out and put in....this is not a problem in any way....the least of your concerns
