went in to Pep Boys (can i say that in the forum?) this afternoon looking for after Xmas bargains.
saw a product called a "Tornado". it looks like a metal "baffle" that fits inside the air cleaner. the box makes all kinds of claims about increased performance and economy.
anyone have any experience and opinions about this product?
I've had one of these in my car after seeing one advertised on the then Shade Tree Mechanic TV show. As with the K&N airfilter, and though they may work as claimed, any performance gained will be minimal to hardly noticed. For the money, I figured I had nothing to lose trying them out. It's not like what I spent would rebuild or put a crate engine in my car anyway. My car does run pretty strong for an L-48 25 years old however. For serious HP gains, I'd suggest exhaust and/or engine mods.
That seems like a pretty reasonable starting bid for something that versatile. I hope I have enough money left for my engine after I buy that and the air cleaner thing and one of those fuel line magnets.
