why is trailing arm cocked back??

why is trailing arm cocked back??
I was trying to finish up rear suspension on 72 yesterday got to drivers trailing arm and after hooking 1/2 shaft cant get strut rod holes to line up (cockeyed) passenger was fine. there are bigger pics in mechanical gallery.[IMG]

Attach the sturt first. Put the bolt through but do not tighten. Then line up the half shaft to the spindle flange. This worked for me real well on my passenger side. Also, on my driver side, I just backed out the flange bolts so they were loose and then attached the strut rod. Once the half shaft is tight... you will not have much movement with the T/A.
