If a car "wanders" or is "darty" on roads with wear ruts I now understand that conventional wisdom says to toe in each of the front wheels 1/16 of an inch or so.

I plan to do this in the month of January. From others experience, should I expect a significant difference in the way the car handles or just a little?

Thanks in advance.

Specs have always called for toeing in the front end. This is nothing new and when the car was aligned it was done that way.
I would be suprised if it made a difference. It should be that way now.

IMO, just a little, but now that depends on lotsa variables, such as tire tread width and of course wheel width...much less profile....

for instance, I have '92 vette wheels on my car...ran with the oly thing they had to fit that size for years....275/50/17 stock tires in whatever brand, I have NO loyalty...

at any rate, it never wandered up north on the freeways, they just not a pounded out/rutted like here in Florida....but here in Florida, it was a full time job, constantly correcting the wheel on my shark...it had a fresh front end, and was tight still....

well anyway, I finally gave up some years ago and started searching, after over a years' time poking around I started in my rack/pinion project, completed about 3 years ago....

THAT cured the problem....

but you understand <...I have the wide wheels tires, you maybe have some defective parts??? from rag joint to steering box adjustment, to controll valve, to tie rod ends, to idler arm, to ball joints, to controll arm bushings??? anything that moves....maybe check parts that not supposed to move....like frame damage from rust/fatigue welds broken loose on lower arms....tons of fun....
