If your car has it's "original" tranny, it's a Borg-Warner Super T-10. They were used Feb/March of '74 to 1981. I do not think BWs had a way of determining the ratio(close or wide) from a code on the outside like some Muncies did.

The tranny should have a "W" number. The "W" is for Warner, the next digit is for the month of production where "A" is for Jan, "B" would be Feb, etc, the next digit(s) are for the day of the month, and the last digit is wide or close ratio where "1" is for wide. I am not sure what it is for close but if it isn't a "1", it must be a close ratio.
