I'm thinking of trading my 75 for a 68 in a million peices and doing a full resto does any one out there know of any good books/videos I could check out... thanks in advance...
There are a bunch of good books out there - a guy in England did a complete restoration of a 68 convertible in one. I think it's called Corvette Restoration Guide or something like that. Joe

There are a few books. The AIM is needed along with the GM serivce and overhaul manuals. Keep in mind the 68 has a few one year only parts that you might find expensive or hard to locate. The drive train is pretty much the same as past and future cars. See if there is a vette club in your area, you may run into others doing the same thing.
Think it over before trading the 75 if it's in nice shape.

Here are some comments on the books I have. I am planning a restoration on my '71 also, but I have not started and therefore have not used these books yet. They all appear to have information of value.
Assembly Instuction Manual (AIM)--This is the original factory assembly book. A necessity for restorers.
How to Restore & Modify Your Corvette 1968-82 by Richard Newton--Looks like it has good details and instructions for rebuilding individual systems on the car.
Corvette Restoration Guide 1968-1982 by Richard Prince--Looks like a good resource for details and pictures of how the cars were originally built; not a restoration manual.
Chevrolet Corvette Restoration Guide by Lindsay Porter--originally published in England but looks like it has good details and instructions for dismantling and restoring the car; documents restoration of a '69.
Corvette Chassis Restoration Guide 1953 through 1972 by Joseph A. Tripoli, Jr.--Has a lot of detailed pictures of chassis components but looks to be short on text.
