removable rear window

you have to sign up to read threads i think, but it just signs you up automatically, no checking email, then going to a link to verify etc. only takes about 20 seconds
anyway, its got a good write up on doing this for a 77.
the reason i am looking for this information, is because i am curious if somehow i can adapt it to a pontiac fiero GT rear window.
although the window is a bit larger than the corvette window, i dont think it would be that hard to do. another hurdle is the third brakelight at the top of the window. it is inside the car, and almost right up against the window. this kind of prevents it from falling inward to remove it. maybe have to look into relocating the light a bit forward to let the window clear it. or maybe somehow integrating it into the latching mechanisim???
you can see the brake light here.
also thinking of an SBC swap, maybe an LT1 or LS1, but thats another thread/forum

C-3 Window Conversion $500.00
Enjoy your 1973-77 Corvette the way the designers at GM meant. Convert your fixed rear window to the earlier removable window. Comes with new weatherstrip, latches, hardware, and black rear window trim.(Order Dye below to color match your interior.) The window is a hand selected good used unit.
Rear window conversion with new window $725.00
Same as above except with a new window and frame.
While Alex was creating this package I got mine from Steve at Dynamic Corvettes. www.dyanmiccorvettes.com from a doner car.
Its one of the best things I have done for just a plain feeling good when driving the vette
. I did not have the t tops or the window in all summer. feels a lot like a vert. and gets lots of questions too.

As for leak problems, my T-Tops with brand new weather stripping leak, my rear window with 35 year old weather stripping have never leaked. Go figure.
Im looking into it and Ill keep you informed

- as long as it's the original blower/duct defogger. If an aftermarket (stickon) resistance wire type - then probably not.
But: No window ... no fog ... no cleaning.
