Just received my poly carbon body mounts today, they are like rocks.Have everything ready to go but now wonder if i should put these in,quess i thought they would have some give and look like the rubber mounts. Whats your feelings on these poly carbon mounts???
one of the best mods I've ever done.... my old rubber mounts were completely shot, that's probably why I see such a huge difference.....there's almost no more squeeking noise when cornering or hitting a bump on the road - with my old mounts it sounded like fiberglass cracking when I hit a road "imperfection"
I was a little concerned when I felt how hard the poly bushings are but it really is no problem.... I guess when you use rubber you would compress it when tightening the bolts, then the rubber is just as hard as the poly...
I guess since you won't compress the poly bushings correct shimming is more important than with rubber bushings.
The shims that come with the kit are all the same thickness, you can get thinner shims at Lowe's for approximately 13 cents a piece...
Badred: The #1 mount,is the rounded end of the mount reversed from #2 thru #4?? That is it suppose to go with the rounded end up toward body where as the others 2-4 go rounded side down toward frame.
Red...any problems in getting the mounts out? Any how long did it take to replace them??
It took me almost a week because three bolts broke and I had to repair weld the #4 brackets....I worked on it only in the evening after work, maybe 2-3 hrs a day...
