I agree..mine falls in that catagory too. It looks and runs good but a lot of "little things" don't work. Nothing affects it's driveability...well maybe the emergancy brake does.
Megladon's picture gave me a good idea for a definition. A project car is one that spends more time on axle stands (or blocks I suppose) than its own wheels.
A project car is one that you have towed home, and with a glisten in your eyes and a smile on your face thinking of all of it's potential, your wife says: "I can't believe you bought that POS. Hurry up and hide it in the garage so the neighbors don't see it!"

So what was the RPO for the extra seat in the engine bay?? I missed that one. Good luck!

A derivative would be a car that you turn into a project car
by taking stuff off and boxing it, with the intention to someday reinstall.
See avatar for example.

My '70 IS my project car. I just didn't buy a basket case. It was in much worse condition when I barely made the drive home from the purchase. And that drive was only 1.3 miles! I put a lot of blood, sweat, tears and money into her in the last 5 years.
It's a never ending "project." Keeps me off the streets and outa the crack houses, er I mean bowling alleys.
