My new exhaust system goes in on Thursday, and I'm going to be under the car with the installer/fabricator. Anyone have pics of thier x-pipe or H-pipe from underneath so I have an idea of the "where to put it" and "how it looks" on the car. I want to be as up to speed on this as I can. Thanks!
They are basically heavy duty band clamps. The trick ones I have are the SS truck style clamps I have in the front pipes. They are 4 inches long and conform to the size of the pipe. I can have the whole exhaust off in about 15 minutes.
Only real reason for an H or X pipe in a GM is for sound. It will smooth out the exhaust notes that you hear when the valves open. Personally, I like the rumble of the straight pipes coming out of my Stage II.
