Ok. As of today I did the following to try to get my car to start:
Changed Plugs, Plug Wires, Distributor Cap, Rotor, Choke Pulloff on Carb, Pulled Starter and redid all terminals at solenoid, changed ignition switch, changed battery, re-grounded motor, even have my entire dash off atm trying to find a way to get power to ignition. I traced the purple wire as far as I could in the engine compartment and no power from ignition.
Only thing I can think of left to do is to run a new wire from the ignition switch all the way up to the starter solenoid. Does anyone know what wire coming from the ignition switch is the one I need to run directly to the Solenoid, that will help me alot for I am very close to setting that bitch on fire.

why not buy a remote starter and start the engine that way? at least you will have the sastisfaction of hearing it run. and it may rejuvneate some better feelings...
Is the problem that the car is not cranking over or is it that it cranks but does not fire.
If it is not cranking check the neutral saftey switch by the shifter in the center console. There are various connectors in there and I have one come apart once.
I mean I checked the purple wires there at the shifter and they were cut and butt connected together...was starting that way for months till this sudden loss of ignition power

if its not turning over take a screwdriver turn the ingnition to the on position and short between the big terminal the the other wired terminal on the solenoid. That has to start it.
But I need to find why my ignition is not working. I need to fix this. Anyone know what color wire is the one coming directly out of the ignition switch that goes to the solenoid?
do you have a voltage meter? check the red wire going into the distributor. the one that says bat on the cap? if you are getting 12 vdc to that then more than likely it is your voltage regulator module under your rotor in the distributor.
So you have power at the starter (the wire directly from the battery). Do you have power at the alternator (battery term) and horn relay (under the passenger side fender)? I think there are a few fuseable links between those components and the starter.
Are you getting power into the steering column? There's a long connector on the side of the column that is accessible if you remove the lower dash pad. I'm guessing you may be familiar with that as you mentioned the igtion switch.
How about the harness connections at the firewall? Do anything lately to jar either side?
Does the lock cylinder power up accessories, or just fail in the start position?
Just a thought, go back to where this all started you've posted a lot of problems that seem to be revoling around your wiring replacing that wiring might be the root of all your problems,By the way was your car starting with the ground wire hanging? Thats to nice a Vette to even think about torching

I am not sure I understand this correctly, do you have power to the ignition switch? If so do you have power leaving the ignition switch going to the starter solenoid? I have the motor out of mine right now so if you need me to trace some wires under the hood I can do that. My car is a 77 but they may have used the same color coding. I jam sure someone here will have a wiring diagram of your car that can answer your questions.
