body mounts
Question: can I drill out the bolt holes and replace with 73' rubber body mounts?
Looking for softer ride and less vibration.
Thanks
Jw
Personally I prefer poly, it's less than $100 for the mounts, bolts and shims. I'm very happy with my new poly mounts in my '79.

Thanks for the info and the links, you have answered many questions that I have and some that I hadn't even thought of yet.
But,,,, I still have my original question.
Has anybody replaced the stock 68-72 solid mounts with the 73 or newer rubber [ or poloy ] .
Is it just a matter of drilling out the frame to allow the rubber to inset? Are the holes large enough to begin with? {I have removed the no. 1 and can see the bottom and the solid "spacer" seems to have a ridge that drops down into the frame and then the bolt goes thru the spacer.}
Does this create problems down the line, ie. does it change the adjustment on the rear spring by raising the car?
Any info would be greatly apreciated.
Thanks,
Jw
