C'mon guys, ONLY REAL '74 owners would know the answer to this so I forgive you guys. This actually is part of a crash sensor on an early experimental airbag system on a '74 test car. There was several articles on it in magazines-but you guys read only what's on the Internet now anyways.
Dude..if this is true hook it up and start the car..throw the now acitvated module at the ground and watch the air bag throw your horn cap where your head would have been!! You actually might have to replace a t top or back window!!?! Damn! Can you imagine a horn cap flying at you at close to 200 mph! Joe!
Cloaking Device... Just replace the dilithium crystals and it'll start back working
Normaly it would be activated by the factory paddle switch on the console next to the green light. This velcro mounted add-on controller looks to be a Romulan variation and seems to have incorporated a starter solenoid by-pass as well as a Photon Torpedo launcher. Very cool!

Yea, but the Photon torpedos are getting harder and harder to find since the California enviro-nuts banned them because the radiation they put off was making the Big-eyed Pond Frogs sterile. I think I saw some on Ebay last week...better stock up!!!
you guys are allll crazy, and silly. what that is,...its just a,............well simply put its a,........actually thats easy,.....itsa little black box, if that vette crashes thats all that will survive,.......then the horn button flys off
From this angle it looks like there are some RF (radio frequency) or oscillator type circuitry there. That could point towards it being a radar detector.
If there is somekind of speaker or siren beind all that circuitry maybe the creator wanted to have police siren sounds coming from thier car?
Most likely it looks like somebody's lame attempt at a radar jammer (ECM) as has already been mentioned.
The cable as it leaves the box looks a little chewed up, you might want to put some electrical tape on there.
i appreciate all of your non-help....it's quite enjoyable. Desertdawg, i can't say i claim to be a true covette mechanic at the moment. maybe i'll change my name on here when i do i'd still like to know how it works....maybe i'll put it on my motorcycle if it's really a radar jammer....it would get put to much better use. with the controller thing, the first switch has 3 settings, up, mid, and down. up and down make a little green light turn on in the corner. the first of the other two switches makes a beep and that square light up for a second when i flip it. the second switch doesn't seem to do anything. it's just so weird....i want to know if it's useful or not.
