Default Clutch anti-rattle springs..

Should these two springs on the clutch linkage be under any tension at all? Mine are not and I'm getting some noises intermittently at rough idle times. There is very little play in the linkage and none of the holes and pivot points seem excessively worn so I'm looking for the most likely cause. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

There should be enough tension to where you have to stretch the springs "a little" so it keeps the linkage from "rattling", hence the term "ANTI-RATTLE" springs.

Had the same issue after thrashing it through the gears. I was sure that it was a clutch dish spring. Turned out to be the fly wheel cover plate on the lower end of the bell housing facing the oil pan. The plate was properly secured. Upon removal, there were two bent tabs at the top of the plate. One was bent and not securing the top. Sounded like a rattle / scraping sound
