Default Lug nuts

Quick question: how much should I tighten down the lug nuts on my 72? I'm using an extra-long handle socket wrench...shall I just make 'em as tight as I can get them?

I beleive 75 ft lb is the factory recommendation. I use aftermarket wheels/tires and tighten to 80 ft lbs.

Probably anything in the 75-85 range is about right.

1 grunt past tight! 75 to 80 ft/lbs is correct.

These are TTIIs also. More pictures on my photos on the left

Great, thanks a lot

By the way, got any pics of your car with the new wheels? I want to get sidepipes and am considering TTIIs and could do with an example

Buy a torque wrench and get them all the same. An inexpensive one can be purchsed for under $20. It may not be as exact as a Snap On, but is still better than guessing.

I've got a really nice Craftsman torque wrench with a digital readout actually

Until you hear them squeak....no, seriously about 70-80 ft.-lbs. is what I use (on my Cragar SS's).
