Default GM Part Numbers

is there a web site where i can look up old GM part numbers??

I wanted to double check the part number of an intake manifold that i've just bought, to see if it's a '79 L-82 manifold (which it what i think it is).
And is the 'part number' the number cast just behind where the carb mounts? .... it says GM CFM, then underneath '14033056' ... does that sound right???

This has to be the biggest list of casting numbers I have seen:
http://www.nastyz28.com/sbcmenu.html#intake
But it doesn't have yours listed??

Or there is this site:
http://aacncclub.com/
I'm not a member, so good luck.

www.mortec.com is good for heads and blocks.

I use the Cars and Parts book of Chevy engine ID numbers book. It's at home though.

Skeets: Double check the last digit in the number. Be sure it is not an "8". Casting # 14033058 is for 1981, L-81, 350, aluminum intake.

The 1979 L-82 alum. intake is either casting # 14007378 (late) or 458520 (early).

1980 is # 14014432.

Paul: Excellent photo of late 79 alum. intake! Even the casting number is clearly readable in your photo!--Patrick.

When I had my 1979 L-82 I accumulated a lot of spare parts that required restoration, generally from Ebay. It kept me busy during the long winters.

To be truthful I am still at it.

thanks guys!

yep Patrick.. i think that last digit could well be an '8' and not a '6' ... it's a bit worn. Looks like you've solved the mystery for me! .. the intake is pretty similar to the '79 one but it's missing the hole for the choke tube (as pictured in paul's photo).

Thanks for your help!

..by the way, what is an L-81? cant see it in my black book?

The LG-4 was the 1980 305cid, 180hp certified for California. The 350cid did not meet emissions standards in 1980 for that State. The L-81 (350cid, 190hp) was the only engine offered in 1981 and it did meet California standards. I am not familiar with that 1981 aluminum intake but it may have had some modifications for the new computer command control (CCC) emissions/engine management system (timing and air-fuel mixture).
