Default Any Done This?

Has anyone ever "grafted " the front fender side "Louvers" from a 68-69 to a 70 up corvette? Im working on a '73 But I really like the side louvers of the 68. Also, Is the '68 L88 HOOD adaptable to the 73? I know one has the "wiper panel " & the other doesn't. I've been a bodyman for 25 years & was wondering if anyone here has made the changes I'm contemplating. Thanks for the input.

A friend of mine has 73 side louvers on his 71. You shouldn't have a problem putting 68 louvers on your 73. You can buy just that part, but you won't be able to use the whole thing, the wheel openings are different back there between 68-69 and 70-up. (You could always convert back to 68-69 wheel openings, they do look cleaner.) As far as the hood goes, the hood and fender tops on 73-up curl up at the windshield so the wipers can come out. The earlier ones are flush with the windshield. You might be able to find an aftermarket L88 style hood that fits a 73. Joe

Default Who sells 'em?

Do you know who sells the fender "side panels" for 68 with the "gille" openings? I'd be even HAPPIER to get a pair cut off of a "front end wreck", where they hadto replace the fenders. Any leads appreciated.

Although I prefer the looks of the 68-69 gills, it is REALLY handy to have side access to the engine bay from time to time.

Somebody asked this a few months back. He was going to do the 68-9 side louvers on a 75. I have a pair cut from a wreck, if interested I can send photos tonight. You might do a search and see how his project turned out.

Ecklers sells an L88 hood for later C3's without the wiper door.
