Which radiator core support?
I need a new core support for my '75 and am wondering if anyone happens to know which year/model car used the largest support. Or, does anyone know a comprehensive descriptive listing of them by size (not just year and engine option)? I would like to have the option for filling it with the largest radiator possible.

If the radiator you want to install is thicker than stock, just modify the hangers at the bottom to accommodate the larger size. Be prepared to deal with clearance issues if you do.

Thanks for the link. I see you suggest the '73-'76E support. Certainly that is the one my car originally used, but is that also the largest support available, do you know?

Your best bet is to give Dewitts a call. Tell them what you want to do radiator wise and ask them which core support you need. They're very helpful and some of the best in the business... even if you choose not to buy.

Once people get sick of overheating, it's very common for them to overshoot. Almost half the people that call me for a radiator say "I want the biggest possible radiator you can make". Well there really isn't any reason to go nuts. Many times you can get a great upgrade in the stock mounting and you do not have to modify anything.
All of the 73-76 models used the largest core (27.5") support GM ever installed in a Corvette. This radiator is huge and should be enough to cool anything. Option one would be an aluminum radiator only, then option two would be to add the electric fan option.
If you need a new support, we sell them for $278
Core Support If you go with the combo rad/fan package, it should handle 800 HP without a problem. That should do it huh?

Could I ask what is the differance between your 436 and 437 radiator supports? I purchased the big block support (new) to go in my SB car years ago from Ecklers, I never have installed it though, that might have been the wronge thing to do as now I want the style radiator and fans in your picture. I've got a big small block 421" plus what do you get for the whole cooling package " support, radiator, and fans and anything else that might come in a package. Thanks

It's frustrating when catalogs only list what the application is and not the size-I've inquired several places about which years of Corvette supports were the largest and the information has always been confusing and sometimes conflicting. It's nice to know the '73-'76 models are the largest.
Yes, I certainly want a radiator that drops in. I've gone the "almost-fits" route and did NOT enjoy it! I certainly want aluminum, and I'm sold on cooling fans. I hear the main issue for cooling issues in C3s is due to their poor air circulation through the engine compartment.
