Default Header Recommendation

I am looking to buy some headers for my '77 L82 350.

What brand would you recommend?

I am looking at some Hedman that are ceramic coated.

Any comments about Hedman?

Dynomax ceramic coated seem to be the header of choice around here.

But I'm crazy...I'm having my exhaust manifolds ceramic coated!

I have a set of full length hedman headers, they seem to be good! but i put them on at the same time as when i rebuilt my engine. so i am not to sure of the actual performance gain.
Ryan.

The long tube Hedman headers should give you good low end torque and 10 to 20 horses. I know several around my neck of the woods who swear by them although there are other popular brands on the forum. I think the long tube design flows good and creates enough back pressure for good exhaust scavenging. Lets hear what the others think.

For $400 you might look into these tri-y headers:
http://www.stans-headers.com/
They will also emphasize torque and with only two tubes at the collector, won't hurt ground clearance. They also have a nice ball and socket connection. Joe

Ahoy Captain. Dynomax ceramic coated headers were a breeze to install
on my 77 when I had it. After an engine build, an extremely lean condition at start up turned the headers red hot....they still retained their new look even after two years and thousands of miles. Good product, good price, great fit....no problems.

the mid america hedders also have 1 5/8 primary tubes for the larger sb like 383. but they came with 2 1/2 pipe connector for the collectors. wish it was bigger. oh yea, stainless hardware too

Will I have any problem with Dynomax fitting with the manual transmission or A/C?

Any comments about Hedman?
The Hedman SB headers are available w/air tube fittings & are used by those who want an emissions setup.

The Dynomax Corvette SB Cerama-Coat fit & flow great, much better than is commonly known. Have been rec. them & many have them now.

The Hedman BB headers are very good & rec.
