Did you win the vette? Looks like the rear exhaust panel may be missing.

I think the panel is there, just no pipes because of the Hookers.

My 70 LT-1 sat for 24 years. 3rd owner was 17 when he got it. Got too many speeding tickets within 1 year, lost his license, could never afford the insurance once he got his license back. Rather than sell the car, it was always next year he'll be able to afford it. 24 "next" years and I got the car.

Good deal? Probably. Great deal? Probably not. Car's not correct color and probably needs a repaint, not cheap. If it only has 40K miles and its been in storage since 78, why the repaint. Also, it's advertised as M22 trans which was not an option in 72 and the "rare" pop up wiper doors. Also L88 hood, looks like normal 72 LT-1 hood in pics. I am always leary of a car that the owner knows so little about. I watch most LT-1s on ebay, but skipped this one for the above reasons. I am however surprised that the reserve was so low.

Default Could be a ZR1

Wasn't the ZR1 available in '72 and didn't it ONLY come with an M22 ???

Solid lifters were all three years, but hp decreased each year and yes M22 came with all ZR1s but could not be ordered without ZR1.

Default Always looking for a LT-1

I think that that one will need a lot if you wanter to return to stock, and if not why bother with a LT-1. It would need to be restriped, repainted and a new exhaust at a min. No pictures of the engine. It did look like it had the original block. It was probably worth about $15K but no more.

Something is not quite right about this deal. Sounds like a fanatic that knew little about it had it. Why did it need repaint? Why rebuild the engine with that low miles? I hope it works out for the buyer.
