Default Stainless brake lines

Should I buy preformed or buy a tool and form them myself?

Plus.... you cannot use "run of the mill" stainless tubing.... the tubing has to meet DOT spec.

FYI- Some of the vendors do not use stainless fittings.... which is where the rust causes most problems.

Order brakes lines from one of the several vendors. It's going to be really hard to fabricate them by yourself. If you want stainless steel brakes lines and want to make them yourself you're looking at about $490 for a hydraulic double flare tool. You need the hydraulic tool for stainless. A $90 tool will do double flares for soft steel.

The brake line vendors have computer controlled tube bending machines. These machines will do a much better job than you can do.

Paragon's stainless steel brake lines have the soft steel fittings color coded as the original were. Classic Tube stainless steel brakes lines have stainless steel fittings. In Line Tube has soft steel fittings on their stainless steel brake lines, but they will put on stainless steel fittings if you ask. (inlinetube.com). In Line also sells some really good repro stainless steel parking brake line cables.
