Default solid motor mount question..

I bought Moroso solid engine mounts for my engine install...
They are supposed to fit '63 - '82 Vettes...

Well - they seem to fit with only one issue (which might not be an issue)...
Well - the motor monts that bolt to the block would be big enough to fit a 1/2 inch bolt to mount them against the mount on the frame. However - the motor mounts on the frame only fit a 7/16 bolt... Is it ok that there is some play??

Well - I don't think that it's safe to run rubber or poly mounts with the kind of HP that my new setup has...

I could do that if I'd know if that's the right thing to do.. Maybe there has to be some play..

Do you know what size bolts you are using (the bolts that connect frame and engine mounts)???

if i'm following you correctly you are saying the new mounts have a larger hole in them then the frame mount. i'm sure the holes that mount to the block are also slightly larger then the bolt you are going to put throughthem....this would allow for some adjustment and movement...sounds ok to me...

I just figured out why the holes are different size...

The correct mount for Vettes is Moroso part number 62530... and I got part number 62560.
The Summit website says that 62560 mounts fit Vettes.... but the Moroso Website says that only part number 62530 fits Vettes...
Will try to get the correct mounts tomorrow...

Yes, the motor is tangling in the air with the tranny attached..

Can't really put it somewhere with the tranny attached...

Well, you know, that depends on the angle of the dangle...

I don't know if you have the ability to tilt the engine when installing because your other post pictures just show 2 chains but the ability to tilt really makes life easier.
I also run alot more horespower then you without a problem with poly motor mounts. I found solid mounts cause a vibration at idle. I know you don't care about this but I found it annoying sitting at a light.

I know that you have a lot more power than I have, but do yo run slicks and a transbrake? Lot's of power without traction is by far not as violent on the drivetrain than big slicks and a trans brake..

Your right, I use to run slicks all the time but after tearing the transmission up 3 times I gave up.

just out of curiosity i measured my old motor mount slot....it was 7/16 x approx 3/4...sounds like ordering the right part was the thing to do...

I'm mostly concerned about the transbrake launches.. The shock of the transbrake on the drivetrain is pretty violent..

with solid motor mounts, doesn't that also lower the engine in the car, giving you a lower center of gravity?
