What kind of problems am I setting myself up for?
during removal?
during reinstallation?
I am removing (trying to) the trailing arms to have them worked on. I removed
the spring and exhaust already. I think I want to remove the differential for
three reasons.
1. Remove the stuck and stripped torx bolts holding the Ujoints in.
2. Replace the front differential bushing as needed.
3. Remove the broken screw bolt in the differential.
Is it that much of a pain to remove and reinstall the differential? I'm figuring
that it will be a absolute pain to get the bolts holding the Ujoints out...
It's not all that bad or difficult. You want to consider replacing the seals if you have it out. The only part that was a little difficult removing was the cross member. I have a 76 and the new C3's have a different setup. Make sure you use a floor jack to hold it and then lower it.
