I went with the AutoZone calipers as well - three reasons; minimal downtime, price and no funny stuff with core charges.
First and foremost, downtime, AutoZone is right around the corner so it becomes a simple remove and replace job…car is back on the road that day.
Price, $54.99 plus tax WITH a lifetime warranty…and no shipping/handling. Yes, I have had to use the warranty once, again, minimal down time and no questions were asked at AutoZone… simple swap out.
Last, although it’s never happened to me, have heard stories of some venders simply telling owners “sorry, we can’t rebuild your calipers, well be keeping that core charge”.
By the way, core charge was $34 each at AutoZone. At that price, as someone else pointed out, I kept all four of my original calipers rather than redeem for the core charge as my car had the original calipers on it. May rebuild them one day… or ebay em…who knows.
One thing, if originality is important to you and you go the AutoZone route take one of your calipers with you and match up the casting stamps. I opened up several calipers before I found two that I liked…it was a slow day for the store.
i did the a-zone thing as well. simple, cheap, fast and they are ss sleeved. about 2 yrs. on 'em, no problems yet.. but it seems the vbp deal is hard to beat with all the extras. use this as an opportunity to flush your old lines as well

I agree, that is a good deal and from them I would not expect any BS about the cores.... however, depending on your location you have to add $$ for shipping the cores, these are heavy...
VBP O-Ring kit installed. Work great even with unknown vintage, not great looking sleeves. Installed these with the full stainless steel hard and soft lines from VBP. My hard lines were rusted through and leaking. Drove the car home from purchase 35 miles, before I found out both front lines were leaking.
Be careful when removing the old pistons, I scratched the edge of the sleeve on the first one I did, not bad enough to leak though.
I believe that's about what you pay at VBP for the O-ring version...... most, if not all rebuilt calipers are ss sleeved and come with pistons...
what is SSBC ?
....Stainless Steel Brake Co,I think.I can see there are more options here so I may have to rethink where they come from.
