I got tired of looking at all the overspray and painted over linkages so I took the deck lid off and redid the underside. Removed all the linkages and wire wheeled everything, sanded, reglassed resanded and shot GM semi gloss and reassembled eerything. Word to the wise always take digital pics before removing every last nut and bolt. Before
After

Thanks all. Next weekend starts the engine bay which is a whole lot bigger of a problem as I'm not pulling the engine just the hood and everything is coming off the firewall. I'll glass/ sand and repaint the firewall and then "rehab" polish everything before it goes back on especially the hood. Only difference between stock and mine is the engine bay color will go all around the drip/ drain rail, stock from GM had GM semi gloss black on the drip rail behind the firewall and body color on the left and right sides of the fender's drip rail.
Looks very nice! Was your car blue at some point? I believe the pull handles and the cables were painted in place on the deck lid at the factory and so are body color as a result. Linkages and latches were added after painting so are natural color. Not that it matters if you aren't the FCR type. Looks good, regardless.

It was international blue, then cherry red, now it's black.
I bought the bare box from Ecklers, don't buy their cheap speakers, for $199.00 I bought my 3-way 6x9 Boston Acoustic speakers which are arguably the best on the market.

Looks good black. Took guts to decide on repainting the car in black considering how wavy those early sharks are and how black can accentuate those defects. From your pictures, the car looks very straight.
Nothing like black to show off those chrome bumpers and trim.
