The seller of this 73 sent me the following e-mail in response to questions I asked after my friend sent me the link on e-bay. Who does a frame off restoration and doesn't know if the frame is matching number? I dunno, but I would be careful.

"I was mistaken when I typed performance rear end it is a traction differential. I am not sure as to whether it is the factory unit or not the code can be found on the bottom of the differential cover and will give you the date, ratio, and factory where the rear axle was assembled. The transmission also matches the vin, and although I was not able to find the vin number on the frame I believe it is original. The NADA HIGH retail value for the vehicle is 39,035 and the reserve is well under that value. Keep in mind this car has had a frame-off restoration within the last year and has the original L-82 engine."

"Bubba Craftsmenship" I agree.......I usually try not to lay the fuel line directly on hot radiator hose equipment!!

Sounds like we've got a salesman on our hands I'd say the car is worth $18,000 tops. Why would you do a "frame-off" and not take the time to put the original valve covers and breather on the car?
