I was about to ask, how do you know it's an "original engine" without even knowing what 427 it is? Above post makes me say, "never mind."

Any price estimates people make with the complete lack of information provided is completely worthless.

I'd still be interested if whether the trim tag is a 900, though.

Default 900

Trim tag says STD for interior(black I guess) and 900 for paint. I don't know what the F10 stands for on the tag. Anyone?

F10 = January 10 '68 build date.

Real code 900 triple black numbers are attractive, NOM or not.

Just chalk it up to the old saying "Learn something new every day".
I'd also like to hear what "other" cars are in the package...strictly for entertainment purposes. Pics would be reallly nice too!!!

I'm in Jersey and would be willing to be a second eye if you need, I completed a frame off on my 68 vert.

So far I know the current engine is a 69 427/400 L68. But is the car an original BB? That is what I am wondering.
The Tach is a 6500 Redline and it has a rear sway bar. It also has 7 leaf rear springs. That much I know. What else do I need to look at?

It sounds like a BB car.Look for a single fuel line, and the HD caps on the side yokes of the rear, and a TI(tranistorized distributor set up.Up inside the driver's side inner front wheelwell in front of the tire....there will be 3 little nuts in a triangle shape,or the 3 holes if the TI was swapped out.
Is it still tri-power,or swapped out when they installed the 69 engine?
not ever going to be a original car unless someone restamps, but still a vauluable car, more so,if a paint code 900,and it is not all rusted in the kick ups, rocker channel, and the birdcage.

Just a single 4 barrel Holley with GM stamp now. It is a 900 paint car with STD black interior. Current soft top is black and the hard top was vinyl, now removed.

anyone remember the guy here who bought a 71 or 70 barn find in wisconson and posted pictures of about a dozen other classic muscle cars covered in barn dust and bat ****?

sounds like you have discovered a cool find. What other cars are in this barn?

have you come to a decision yet?
Make sure you check out the frame kickups right in front of the rear tires.

Going for one more look tomorrow. Will check the kickups, the fuel line, and to see if the tank sticker is there(if I can) and the TI setup as well.

Please take some pictures and get these posted...also of the other barn cars...

Don't ever be scared to ask questions, that's how we all learn more about these cars.

Default Here's the update...

The 68 vert has the following:
Single fuel line(no return line)
7 leaf springs
U joint caps not straps
Front and rear sway bars
triangle patterned holes where TI used to be
6500 redline tach
manual steering
manual brakes
no A/C
TANK STICKER visible but not readable

Currently has a 69 427/400 MK motor and 71 black leather seats.

Does this sound like a factory BB vette?
Am I missing anything?
