In 1996, the LT1 was available only with the auto, the LT4, the manual 6spd (M6).
There are three designations of 2 transmissions - the 700R4 and the 4L60 are basically the same, the 4L60E is the electronic version.
Hope this helps!!
Huh?? you said "In 1996, the LT1 was available only with the auto, the LT4, the manual 6spd (M6)." There were 6359 6-speeds of 21,536 Corvettes built in '96

Right....so 6359 LT4s (also 6spds)...the rest were LT1 autos.

Thats right, so 6359 were LT4.
All manuals from 96 are LT4, all automatics are LT1.

That's right, since 1971 automatics have outsold manual transmissions. In fact in 1982 a stick wasn't even available in a Corvette. However, in the used car market most people are looking for a manual transmission.
