Look when this person joined the forum. It was just days ago. He probably has no idea how things work. Go easy on him. Your post reads like an admonishment. If I were on the receiving end, I'd be afraid to make another post for fear of another admonishment. Why not simply politely inform. I know I'd much rather read a reply in that fashion to one that chastises.

It's the amps.
You have two options, the hard way, and the hard way.
The hard way is to rip out all the bose stuff and replace all of it, and probably the speaker wiring too. You can't piecemeal it together with aftermarket stuff, its all or nothing.
The other hard way is to send the amps in for refurbishing, or find out what the typical parts to be resoldered are (its documented on here, but our search function is dead.) The R&R on those old amps is expensive, and that won't guarantee a working system.

It is an admonishment...
This is the 21st century... most every forum on this planet that is broken down into sections has rules about cross posting items, unless expressly permitted.
Besides, I had already commented in the C4 Tech thread, rather politely, then I see this...
If it's factory, Bose, part of the problem could be your antenna relay. On the '96 it's located in with radio, behind the passenger seat. Don't know what year yours is, but the first thing to check would be all of the connections to the radio, the head and the antenna.
There are several amps in the Bose system. If one or more in yours have failed, it will be costly to repair. When one of my amps died, I chose to replace the entire system with new front and rear speakers, an Mp3 player and an amplifier. I went for high-powered speakers, a top of the line Alpine Mp3 player and a fairly good amp. I also had them install a Viper alarm system at the same time. I paid $1,100 for everything. So once again, you get what you pay for.
Any competent radio installer will tell you that it's not easy to remove all the Bose components. It takes hours. If you choose to change your system, make sure you go to someone reputable as well as knowledgeable.
