Present and accounted for!!!
Welcome to the forums alfster! Where are you located?
This is the fun part of the Corvette experience. You get to look at a bunch of Vettes and choose one that best meets your criteria. Take your time and dig up as much information as you can find on the C4's as possible. Buy the best Vette you can find, but don't get too hung up on the specific year of the car like alot of people here do. There are some really good deals now on the early C4's and the L98 is a great engine. It's got tons of torque and is easliy modded, if that's what you are looking for. Good luck.
My last car before the vette was an 86 IROC, I wish I could have kept both, but one can have only so many toys........... The vette is a different animal than the camaro and I doubt you will be disapointed. I think in the 12-15k range, you can get a nice LT1 car, most say buy as new as you can, I say buy the nicest condition car your money will allow. Replacing parts as was mentioned can be surprisingly expensive for the former camaro owner.
Great choice! I have a 96 LT1 polo green coupe with tan interior that I may consider selling between now and July. It is in excellent condition and just turned 80,000 miles. I am in the USMC and have orders to Okinawa in July. I am torn between storing her for three years and selling her and getting another when I return. I am in Eastern NC if you decide you are interested. It definately falls in your price range. Again welcome to the forum Alfster
I would suggest you get as new as you can, the LT1 engine runs from 1992 to 1996, i have a 96' LT1 auto car as a daily driver with 91k miles and love it, you should be able to find a nice 96' Auto well optioned in your price range. Be sure and ask previous owner (of possible) if he/she has changed the optispark/water pump as these are issues on LT1 cars, also check condition of weatherstriping, listen/feel for any vibrations in the driveline, If the car has the Bose stereo make sure all features/speakers work properly. Any other questions be sure and ask, there is a wealth of knowledge here, this is my 4th C4 and there are alot more out there

Yup....I would be looking at '95-'96 LT1 A4. These years have the benefit of the vented Optispark , and all the other benefits of C4 design "tweeks" over the years......with all due respect to 1984-1994's of course!!!!

95-96 is a good choice. One thing to keep in mind, with a 96 you're dealing with an OBDII system. Scanning tools designed for OBD1 will not work.
