Is anybody using the Hypertech Street ECM?
My ECM is bad and I was thinking of getting that one, my 93 is basically stock with a A/T and a K&N filter. So how or will it change my cars performance and will my gas mileage suffer?
The hypertech chip is just a chip that goes inside your ECM. The chip very rarely goes bad. If your ECM is failing the hypertech won't fix your problem.
As a side note the hypertech chip for a 93 is a $100 paper weight. All it does is slightly adjust your torque converter lockup and it sets your rev limiter to 10,000 RPM's just for good measure. That way if your trans ever fails to shift you'll blow up your engine.
If you want to spend the money on a hypertech, I'll make you a deal. Send me half the money that the hypertech costs, I'll kick you in the nuts and we'll call it even.
Yeah, its just a chip. It wont make any difference in your cars performance, unless its modified. The chips parameters are the same as a stock chip at average rpms for emissions purposes.
The thermoaster chip will turn your fans on sooner for a cooler running motor.
I have one and my car never runs hot.

Actually the parameters of the chip are the same as stock for ANY RPM. I've got the BIN file of a hypertech if you would like to compare it.
