I don't know if he was a member or not but I was stationed in Germany with a guy named Casey Jones. Right age too. Kinda makes me wanna try to look him up now. He had a stepbrother named Marvin (Marty)Cannon and a wife name of Linda if anyone has any info on him.

Question: how many CF members drive without your seat belts on?

My point is it seems whenever someone dies in a car crash, the cops claim that they were not buckled in. OK. I say prove it! Show me proof that the seat belt was not used when you have a wad of steel barely recognizable as a car and make claim that the seat belts were not used.

Its sad when another driver looses their life.

The report said the occupants were "ejected" from the vehicle. I would guess from that statement that they weren't wearing their seatbelts.

It is usually pretty easy to tell if someone was wearing their seatbelt. I have seen people ejected who were wearing a seatbelt, but it is rare and you can see where the seatbelt anchor tears away from the frame or the belt itself can break. If it is questionable, an inspection of the inertia wheel will answer the question.

I don't think seat belts would've made any difference in that accident, anyway.
Why did cop even mention it.
While were at it, how did the cop know how fast the Vette was going.
Was there a patch of ice, or an oil slick ???
Did the tire blow out ???
Looks like he jumped to conclusions.

What a tragedy. Such a young man.
I hope his kids are older if he has any.
I believe the cops mention seat belts every oportunity they get. The reality is that even when legislated, not 100% wear them. Why not?, I have no idea!!!. I raced stock cars 75-78 and I have always worn seat belt since. No way would I get in a vehicle without them.
