Default Flowmaster Super 40s anyone?

I recently had some Flowmaster 50's installed on my '90 coupe and they don't quite have the sound I'm looking for. I want something with some more sound. Does anyone have the new Flowmaster Super 40's on an L98 out there? Are they similar in sound to the original 40 series mufflers? Thanks

I had the Force II 50 series on mine. Too quiet. Now I'm going with original 40's...they should be on tomorrow if all goes as planned.

I heard the super 40's and 40 deltas are as loud outside, but quieter inside. Me, I want loud all the way around.

40s have a ton of resonance. But I think they will give you the sound you are looking for.

I have the Flowmaster Super 40's on my '92 LT1. At first I still had the factory resonator on, but I recently had it replaced with an X-pipe. Sounds very healthy now. Getting a little resonance inside the car now, but only at certain RPM's.

Would I recommend them? Yes! Go for it. You'll be glad you did. These also have the black cases on them, not the silver. I would have just painted them black anyway.

Exactly. Are you using the center inlet/center outlet ones? If so, did you have to modify the rear exhaust bracket for them to work? I currently have the dual outlet 50's and I want a single center outlet for a 4" round stainless steel tip, but the exhaust hanger mounts right between the two outlets. I hope that made sense.....

On my 89 I had 42540 and added tips to it. Sounded good but if you have like a 2.59 rear end the resonace may drive you out of the car. I had 3.07s and it woud resonate around 1500 as I recall...

I'm using the 425501-L 425501-R They fit on the stock Y. I have a sound clip I can e-mail to you. I should add that I have gutted the cats and have the stock manifolds. Some resonance but not too bad for the mile I put on it a year.

Here's a clip or two of the original 40 series Flowmasters. Resonance is big, but gotta love the sound.

I liked the sound and also got alot of compliments. Took'em off because of resonance, your experience may be different.

Just installed these on my LT1. They sound great especially under wot but have just as much resonance at 2000 rpm as the orginal 40's do. This is on a stock a4 with 3.07 gears.
