This is the third AC delco alternator I have put on in about a year and a half. I am thinking it could be from using my 300 watt power inverter I use to power my laptop when I am using my gps software. I use the lower wattage alternator. Should I move up next time I get another one. Suggestions needed????????????

You never mentioned if you were replacing your alternators with remanufactured, rebuilt or new units. If your'e using remanufactured or rebuilt, I'm not surprised. Companies claim that when they rebuild or remanufacture them, all the brushes, contacts, electrical components, etc., are changed. That's a crock.
Buy a brand new unit with a higher amperage and your problem will most likely not reappear. Powermaster makes an excellent alternator, but I don't know if they make one for your car. If you can't find one, go with AC Delco.
Or go for broke and get an Irragi rebuild or new alternator. They do rebuilds up to 300 amps but only 160 or so at idle. That will fix your problem FOREVER. They run anywhere from $300-400. PM me if you need more info. I know of a group buy going on at another forum, ir you or anyone else is interested. I think the group buy is like 15% off or so.
