I have OEM 17 inch Sawblades on my 91, and I'm running 275-40's all the way around. It has been my impression that the wheels are 9 1/2 inches wide, so this morning I Ebayed myself into a new set of polished A Molds from ASF. Great! Lucky me! Tonight, at one of our local Corvette functions, some guy tells me that the 91 Sawblades were only 8 1/2 inches wide, and a 275 was too narrow for a 9 1/2 inch wide wheel. WTF!!!!!
Somebody please tell me that I didn't just **** away $600 on wheels that are gonna be too wide for my tires! TIA

You're fine. 285 is about as *wide* as I would go on a 9.5, so 275s will be just fine. FWIW, it's what I have on the rear of my Vette now, and I've got 255s up front. When I bought the car, it had 245s on it... No worries...

with the consensus. You should have 9.5's all around... I put some 8's on the back of mine for some smokey burnouts and it looked rather silly... you'd know if that was the case. I don't think you have much to worry about
