Default Door Panel Fasteners

Im trying to find those round fasteners/plugs that hold the bottom of the door panel to the door. I've looked at ecklers and corvette central and cant seem to find any. Does anyone know where to get these?

I bought a box of them from an auto paint and body supply place. Auto paint stores carry lots of different clips/plugs. I remember they had several types that were similar but not quite the same, so open the box and look closely at the parts. Take an old one for comparison, even a broken one.

Here's a hint: I seem to remember these were actually listed as headlight plugs/inserts (what the headlight adjusting screws screw into) for a Pontiac, Buick, or Olds (don't remember which).

I just found the box of them that I bought. The part number is 2173, and there's also a small number (1377030). They're described as RETAINER, BUMPER TO VALANCE BAR, HEADLAMP SCREW, GM & UNIVERSAL.

Let me know if you can't find them and I'll send you some.

I think they are call "bathtub" nuts. I've had luck removing them and flipping them over so the screw screws into a different part of the plastic, or swap them around to do the same thing. I have a bunch of used ones. LMK.

50 retainers came in a small cardboard box with a yellow stick on label. There was no manufacturer name actually printed on the label with the part number, but there was a lighter colored "W & E" on the background of the label, so I would say that W & E is the manufacturer.

When I had some weatherstrip replaced by the dealer they lost some of those fasteners and replaced them with some black plastic ones that did not have the grain on them and didnt match the door panel right. They later ordered the right ones... Do the ones you guys found have grain marks on them?

The shipping was a bit much $10.00 for very small items I ordered from this place but it was nice to actually find some of those things and get them quickly.

I hate to admit it but most of the part numbers on that site you can convert easily to GM part numbers and get them elsewhere (GM parts direct) cheaper, if you want to wait a lifetime for them. I suppose I'll pay more for shipping to have them a bit quicker.

I didn't realize you were talking about something else. Evidently 94-96 is different. In my replies above I was talking about white oval-shaped plastic retainers that push into slots in the door, and the door panel retaining screws go into them.

I would still check with a local auto body/paint supply store as they carry most clips and retainers.
