When I finally get "mine", I'm planning on it being the last car I buy (I'm 59). I'm gonna modify it to suit me and the kids can do anything the want with it after I'm gone 'cause it won't be worth much as a 'vette. Maybe they'll get lucky and find a buyer who wants the kind of car I'm gonna build--or one of them might appreciate it for what it is and keep it.
My dad still has his first vehicle, a 1946 Chevrolet Pickup Truck, which will someday be mine. I've already sold my first car, I traded it for the Vette. BUT some day my first Vette and the 46 will belong to my children.
Well I bought mine during the great stock market boom and the day I bought it I made enough on Qualcom to pay for it outright, so, it still puts a smile on my face because it would have been lost money when the market went south. I actually enjoy doing maintence on it and reading this Forum to get ideas from others. I also like having sport with new 50- 60K$ car owners who don't understand what torque monsters these cars are in "stop light here to there" rumbles. regards
I've thought about it from time to time, but can't bring myself to. Can't replace what the car is for what little I have in it. Maybe down the road if it meant the difference in getting a ZR1, GS, or LT4 I might....Other than that, its a ton of fun on the cheap!
not for at least 10 years from now! too much pain, $$ and tears to even consider it until then. its in great shape, only 70k miles, options-loaded and black tag ZF-6, feels too damn good, nope - ain't gonna happen! i''ve had it for 2 years now

I love my 95 but I would trade it for a six speed anyday. Why do they make automatic vettes?
Some of us are to damned old to live with a clutch everyday. That is why mine is an auto. Five minutes in traffic and my left knee feels like there is an elephant sitting on it.
The 88 will go to my daughter when she graduates high school. At that time I will probably look for a late 70's C3. They are just SO much cheaper to buy part for.
I bought my '86 coupe new in the Fall of 1985. It now has 74K miles and is still running good. Over the past 20 years I have had some offers but I always turned them down. I have also learned how to do some of the maintenance on it so I don't feel as intimidated when something needs fixing. If I put it on the market, I could only get about $10,000 to $12,000 anyway. It is worth more than that to me.

Reason: misspelled word
I have mine now 5 years and enjoying every minute. Cars in Holland are expensive because of tax and VERY high gas price. We've put a lot of work into her and she keeps getting better and better!
Upgrading to another vette is the only thing that would ever make me sell. And even then it still might be a C4 (B2K, GS, ZR1), but since my wife hates hurdeling over the chasis rail, my next vette will probably be a newer generation. - Hopefully I will not have to sell the '86 to get it!
I've had my 94 for 5 years now, and I will never get rid of it unless I am absolutely forced to. I have it fixed up just like I want and I could not easily replace it.
I may get a 2nd vette one day but my 94 stays. If I ever remarry she had better accept it or SHE will go and the car will stay.
