You've had yours 11 days longer than me!

I can't believe I'm coming up on owning a Vette for 6 years. It's the longest I've ever held on to a car. This one will never be sold.

I imagine I'll be keeping mine for awhile. With the money I have in it and the high miles (116k) its just not worth anything to anyone but me. But who knows, I could change my mind.

The car has 52K miles and I have modified the living crap out of it and I know that I will never recoup my investment, which over the last 3 years is probably in the neighborhood of 20K, which is not inclusive of the purchase price. My 8 year old son is really into cars, told me he wants me to install nitrous and he already said he wants my car when I no longer have a need for it (R.I.P.) So the car will be with me for as long as I'm on this planet.

There's always room for an addition, but this one is a keeper. I just couldn't bear to part with it. I invested too much time, sweat and money to let her go.

Plus, with your setup now, buying just about any other street car would be a downgrade anyway

Just had the concrete poured, and in a few weeks will have another bay on the garage for a later to be purchased C5. Yes, I'm going to keep my 53,000 mile '88! Like most posts, it's worth more to me than it would be to anyone else. Besides, on nice Fridays, my wife and I can each drive a Corvette to work!!

I have no plans on ever selling the 90, my wife has even asked if I wanted to sell it and get something newer like a later C5. Just don't want to do it, I love the C4!

I've owned my car for 3 years and it took a year to find. It is a highly optioned car with low miles. My plan is to add a C5 or C3 to the garage in the near future.

I bought my 92 new off the showroom floor. If it was just a ZF rather than a A4 I would keep it. Way to much hassle to convert it and I'll never find a C4 stick in the same condition as mine is with 40K on the clock. But I miss that damn stick that I grew up with. So I will probably sell it off for the new C6 ZO6 in a yr or even a 04 C5 ZO6. But I love the lines of my C4 much better than either of those two.

In August, I will have owned my Corvette for 5 years (and 41K+ miles). I have no plans to sell it anytime soon. So far, the cost of maintaining it hasn't become prohibitive as I do some of the repairs myself. I love the color and interior, the wheels, the clamshell hood, the way it looks. I don't get in my Corvette, I "put it on".

Default It runs in the family...

I have only owned my 96 for about a month. I wish I could have afforded her when she was new, but I was only 20 years old then. It runs in my family to keep cars forever - my father has a 1966 GMC pickup that he bought new the year he graduated from college. 1 owner, 40 years is pretty rare these days! (It only has about 111k original miles, and it has a 305 ci v-6!)

My father bought his 87 in early 88 and we had a lot of great times in it. He passed away last year and I got the vette. I had a Honda S2000 at the time, but after I got the 87 I found myself taking the Vette more & more. There is no way I would ever sell the 87 becase it has to much of my father in it, but I really wanted a little hotter ride with a stick.

So I did the only thing a real Vette fanatic could do, Sold the Honda & bought another Vette. It's a Ruby Red 40th Anniversary coupe with a 6spd & only 59,000 miles. I love it and to make things even better, I got 11g's difference from the S2000.....

I used my vette to "trick" my "significant other" into going out for a ride when we first met. Well, one thing led to another and now I have a beautiful daughter! How could I ever part with such a magnificent car? Even though my daughter is yet to take her first step, I am planning to see her behind the wheel someday.

i've had my 1985 z51 for 9 years now. bought it w 33K miles - now 94K. its an every day (spring, summer, fall) driver, and shares duties with my 2004 z06. the '85 is a very dependable car - i stay on top of the maintenance and the cosmetics - in fact, this things looks as good, if not better, than the day i bought it. people can say what they want about c4's, but this has been one great corvette! i will probably keep it for another 2-3 years - until i retire, then sell it to my son (for $1.00).

When I first joined this forum someone wrote that for regular on going service repairs these cars will cost $3000 per year on the average after they are paid off. I have found that to be true after about six years. This of course does not count on major rebuilds/racing campaigns. $250 per month average for such an awesome ride that combines the ageless style, power to destroy most $50,000 imports, and, the amazing ability to deliver MPG numbers that most non vette people would not believe is a bargin. Regards
