Default Tail light questions.

Well, I noticed my right hand outer tail light was out yesterday. I looked at the light, and saw there were screws in it. I read up on a few threads and saw people were complaining about not having screws in theirs... so I figured I had something different. I reached up under the car (like I had read on a few threads), but had no idea what I was feeling. I decided to go ahead and unscrew the outer cover to the tail light, and try to unscrew the bulb. Well that didn't go too well, and the bulb shattered. I looked at a working one without the cover and was a little too afraid to try to unscrew that one. My questions:

1. What kind of tail lights do I have? Are these aftermarket? Later model? Are they stock and I'm just reading things wrong?
2. How the hell do you unscrew these bulbs? (Pics Below)

The first one is the working tail light, and obviously the shattered one is the one I attempted to replace.

Thanks, Eric

I think those are factory. the lens is removed by the 2 screws to remove the rest I removed licsence plate and reached in there are 2 more small screws that you remove to take out whole thing.

you have the 90+ tail lights...the 84-89 taillights have to be taken out through the back. i believe that your lights are kinda spring loaded...lightly press it down and turn to release. sometimes the grease that protects the bulb/socket connection from water gets a little gummy and hard and makes removing the bulb a real PITA. just be careful. i think that if you look at the way your front cornering lights connect to the socket, you will see how the rears work.

By taking out the license plate, can you reach the outer light?

Thanks, I'll try that.
