Default inoperable window

I recently bought a '94 convertible. Shortly after purchase the passenger side window went down and stayed down. Neither switch worked to put it back up. It stayed that way for a month or so until a friend got in one night and tried to put the window up. It worked! It continued to work for a few weeks, then once again I put it down and it quit working. I figure it's got to either be one of the switches is faulty or a loose wire somewhere. It this a common malfunction? Does anyone know what the most likely cause would be? Any insight would be much appreciated.

yup. The motor is dying.

If it happens again, slam the door, bet it works just fine then.

It's a bit of a pain to replace... there are rivets that need to be drilled out.

It's the motor but you can test the switch to make sure.

Slam the door or take the door panel off and whack the motor with a hammer and it typically will start working again in an emergency type situation.

Oh by the way you can't get the motor alone and have to get the whole deal which is not cheap like $250

Tried the door slam first... No luck.
