Default Lowered 96's step inside

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for detailed . . . . and if you would (step by step) instructions involving the lowering of a 96. Both front and rear advice would be greatly appreciated. I'd also like to know the pro's, con's, and any problems that may have popped up, that you learned about, that I can avoid through your knowledge. Also, does lowering change the specs and ratios when aligning? and if so advise on that end also.

TIA

Cindy

There is a Tech Tip about lowering. It's ok. Another member put this together (it was a Word doc that I converted to html)

Lowering a C4

I've got my front end torn apart right now. It was a little tricky getting the spring out. I was able to jack one side higher and that was just enough clearance.

You can buy a kit with the plastic wedges and rear bolts. I bought the rear bolts from Eklers for $20 and an uncle is making the wedges from Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene which should be better than the polyurethane.

As you can see from my sig pic it needs dropped a bit.

If you are thinking of going with coilovers see my website.

The real main issue is that if you drop the car too far you may have trouble getting the caster where it needs to be. When I had mine alighned they couldn't get it in spec.

It's not really that bad. Just a lot of unbolting. All depends on how much the gap bugs you.
