The Wave - please respond
Took my precious out for a spin this afternoon and was astonished at how many vette owners we passed... and got a wave from ALL of them!!! The wife was with me and thought it was funny that us vette owners would wave at a perfect stranger... so I felt compelled to enlighten her on "the wave".
She could not believe that this is a world wide thing between Corvette owners so I decided to start this thread for her to see for herself. So please post a response as she and I will be checking back to prove my point.
And we BOTH will be checking in so please don't inform her of what an a$$ I can be
and a pic of the wife and car

I got my first wave from a C6 yesterday. I was actually shocked, as the three C5's that I had waved at before shot me down....
Funny - I had almost the exact opposite happen. I got waves from a few C5 Z06s (I guess they'd be the *only* Z06s on the road for now, huh?), but got nada from a silver C6 coupe that I passed. The guy even made eye contact as we passed, but no wave. His car had Cali plates too - no temp tags - so there's no excuse for being "new" and just not knowing about it yet. He's certainly been waved at before...he's just making an effort not to wave back!

Dealers should inform first time Vette owners about the wave..
Our Ruby comes out this weekend.... Bitter sweet, she now has to sit outside. Can't wait til Monday, getting the tabs!!!!
And I'll be waving away!
I noticed 50% of female Vette owners/drivers have a tendency not to wave back, regardless of generations. So far 60% of C4s wave back, 80% of C5s wave back, and about 33% of all C6s I have seen have waved back, but also 66% had temporary dealer tags. The other 1% were parked with nobody in them LOL.
I probably get waved at about 25% of the time...and when I wave at a Vette driver first, I get a retuned wave about 5% of the time. So it's pretty much, if the other driver doesn't wave first, then I don't get a wave at all.
I've known about the wave since the first day I knew anything about cars. I believe it started with Jeeps and Harley's and then when the vettes came along, they started up.
I've almost never missed a wave. I've had vettes wave to me when I'm in the big brown truck, somehow they know I'm a vette owner
I think that alot do not know about the wave, and I think some newbies are hesitant to wave first. Some see a generation gap between the C's and don't wave simply because of that.
We should all come out of the closet and all be wavers. No matter what gen, newbie, old timer, wave initiator, whatever.

I used to get when I had the mopars but I have been 'converted", around here I dont think many newer vette owners(leasers, c-6) get it , but the guys drivin c-5s do. I dont see many c-4s around here though but they have given the wave M7
Waves are automatic on motorcycles, no matter what model or brand. I have not ridden or owned one in several years, but I thought that was pretty cool. I'm glad the tradition is common for Corvettes also.
