gaskets?
i fired up my vette today so i could charge the battery and use the window motor and i noticed that there was a TON of smoke coming off the exhaust manifold and then the cat. 
it was some oil dripping out of the valve covers. 
who all has replaced the gaskets on the iron head?how hard is it? What brand do all recommend for replacement?

Replacement is easy, getting them to seal is a bitch.
I think I'm something like 0 for 6 in that category. Even when I do get a good seal, they start to leak... eventually.
Go with rubber gaskets, and use RTV on both sides.
