Default Slight Tilt to Drivers Side

Disclaimer: OK, I know this subject has been talked about before, but I've got a new twist (pun intended.) And I am considering this "basic tech" so I'm posting it here.

I've noticed a lot of C4s have a tilt to the left when you look at them from the rear. Mine has a 1/2 inch difference at the rocker panel in front of the rear wheel. Everything I check points to frame.

So here is the twist. I replaced the rear shocks and all evidence suggested they were the original equipment. But on the passenger side (the high side) there was a spacer on the top shock post. So I'm guessing it was factory installed. No spacer on the drivers side.

Is it likely that they put that spacer in at the factory?
That they compensate for frame misallignments to keep the shock at the correct travel envelope?

Has anyone else found a spacer at the top of the pass side shock?

If you have FX3 someone may have put it in because the rod can only come up so far into the actuator and the bushings get weak over time so the solution is to put a spacer in.

Probably not it, 'Fox.

Shocks will have virtually no affect on static ride height.
They tend to, uh....'self-adjust'.

(even the high-pressure gas units will support but a few pounds of weight themselves)
