Default need help

I am new to the forum and I need help with an intermitten problem with my 94 LT1 . I hear a noise that comes from the left front of the car down low out by the headlight area headlights where on and it happens while standing still idling and once while taking a slow turn. It sound like a low growling noise almost like something vacuum wise.. Unknown what it is I have never heard anything like it on anyother type of car.. only happens every now and then. Can anyone please advise!!

just guessing, could it be the headlight motor going haywire? i looked on my 93 and don't see anything in the area that could make that kind of noise, i may not have looked hard enough. sound travels and it my be bouncing around and coming from somewhere else close by

There is a air pump down there for emissions. If you look just ahead of the two fan relays, in-between the radiator upper housing and the frame, you'll see the intake for the air pump. There should be a small foam covering over it. Be careful with it if it is on there, they have a tendency to split a part. The foam booty has a seam where it is glued together. Poor idea for a filter. If it's not there, then you're probably hearing it sucking air. Or it could be blocked. Just a thought.
