New Emblems...
Just thought I would mention this for the heck of it
any way I installed new emblems today, wow big difference didn't realize how faded out the old one's were. Pretty easy job- remove the two nuts, heat em' up with a hair drier or heat gun, pop it free then use 3M adhesive cleaner to remove excess. I went a little further and put some 3M Swirl Mark Remover over the area, then a quick lite Z5. Installation is peel the protective covering and seat them. Tighten the nuts, on the hood it helps to put a little clay inside the deep well socket to help from dropping the little nuts..... ah ha one item more checked off the list.

Yeah for 93, you could have the chrome ones or the natural black ones. The chrome was are used on the 40th Anniversary Edition same for the 96 CE too. But I agree with you I like the black one's better. I think I'm on a mission subconsciensously to restore the vette to original new condition. Seems like I'm always replacing this or that just so its new again. I figure better get them parts now before they are discontinued and it will give me another 10-12 years of service. And in some cases where parts have been discontinued and I get a hold of the last few I have been buying duplicates, so I have an original spare if needed. For example like the vacuum harness.
Love that polo green color.

They don't tighten real tight, it would just strip away the plastic. I think they are there to just pull the center part tight until the sticky takes hold. One day in the hot sun and they were fine.
10mm if I remember. I used a deep well socket.

that would help out greatly, i need both front and back
just need to figure out what to do about the wheel centers, they don't make black 91-96 center caps, i was told they wouldon't fit, i guess i'll just paint my ratty centers, and get a vinyl decal of a red bowtie, and just go that route, cheaper than $40.00 a cap

You fool! Only "Type R" emblems can do that. I keep them handy for track days.
Seriously though, they look really good.
When I bought my Vette, the gas cap door emblem was faded almost to the point where you couldn't make out the logo anymore... My paint looks really good though and teh dealer I bought from gave me a new emblem to put on. Of course, it then made the hood emblem look bad so i had to replace that one too
Amazing how much "newer" your car will look wothout faded emblems...
