It sounds like your car is running way too hot just like my 90 L98 did when I first got it. Look in the Tech Tips secton of the forum and find the paper on how to clean the radiator and plenum. I'd bet that yours is full of trash and that the radiator fins are blocked with dirt. Trust me if you clean it you'll never see temps like that again.
