So I put a GMPP ZZ4 crate motor in my 90 awhile back. I found out last weekend when I was pulling my valve covers to paint them to match my new paint job that 2 of the intake manifold bolts have cut through the pushrods all the way into the oil passage. So I have to get my car towed back to the dealership that did the work. Going to be next week before they get to it, but they have agreed to pull the motor and inspect all the bearings and flush the block etc. I just got her painted and now this. I didn't get to do alot with my vette last summer because of school commitments, and now she is probably out of commission for most of this summer too! Crapola! (looks good though!) It is a good thing that they are standing behind their work like they are, I had no argument when I told them I wanted the engine pulled and inspected as it is so new. Just sad she is down for what looks to be awhile!
Doug, sorry to hear of the complication. I fully appreciate the feeling of not having the vette for quite a period of time. I'm with you on it, my friend! Its great that the dealership is taking responsibility like that. They screwed up, but kudos to them for doing the right thing. What comes around goes around......
As for your oil filter, I suppose a hacksaw would do the trick
I've got 3 oil filters & 3 oil samples I saved during the 1rst 1,000 miles since my rebuild.....I haven't even hacked into them yet. But the oil when drained looked good (appropriate)
Yea, your new paint job looks awesom, love it! Hang in there, hopefully the dealership will get you settled up asap

Damn Doug... this almost seems never ending (not trying to pour salt in the wound). I certainly hope all goes well as I hope to see that car at the track in St. Louis... lined up next to me. I'm sure those tail lights will look really pretty under the midnight sky Get her back running and good luck.

Get my daughter to drive and I will push like heck! Problem is you wont be able to see the taillights bro! My big azzzzz will be in the way!
Yeah Corvette Ownership is a never ending adventure. But it is all worth it when you are rolling through some back road with the top out, tunes cranked, or listening to the motor, not a trouble in the world! Oh well, I guess I really need to be studying for these last 2 weeks of summer school anyway!
Guess I can around here and harass everyone!!!
