Default How to launch an Automatic LT1?

I'd like to take my '92 to the local 1/4 mile track sometime soon, and I was wondering how I should launch my car without embarrasing myself, it has the stock TC and automatic transmission, rest of the car is basically stock with an SLP cai, and Magnaflow mufflers. I have no runs in any car down the track, although I have watched several times as a spectator. Any tips would help...Thanks guys

Put the shifter into 3rd gear.
Most importantly...drive around the water box, if posible.
Do a little burn out to clean the tires.
Move into the pre-stage beams.
Wait for you opponent to pre-stage.
Bring RPM up to say 1,200rpm.
Creap into the stage beams.
On the 3rd yellow, drop the hammer.
Enjoy the experience.

I have the B&M shift kit for hard 2nd & 3rd gear rubber. Your 700 a/t will have a sweet on solid feel shift. Get a good timing feel for the lights by watching the tree cycle before you're up. Good luck & have fun .

Make sure the ASR is OFF!!!, If its not, then you might as well just floor it and hold it hard to the floor.
